More than 500 community media practitioners gathered in Brooklyn the week of June 26 at BRIC Arts to celebrate and learn at “BTransformed4Good”, the Alliance for Community Media’s National Conference.
The Conference featured tours of the new studios of Manhattan Neighborhood Network and BronxNet and took place at BRIC Arts, which has a strong history of supporting performing arts and expression that represent community through its varied programs.
Featured speakers at “BTransformed4Good” included Joshua Breitbart, Senior Vice President of ConnectALL, the State of New York’s organization assigned with developing and extending broadband and digital equity for all residents; and Dr. Nettrice Gaskins, the African American artist and academic whose work focuses on techno-vernacular creativity, Afrofuturism and artificial intelligence.
The Conference also featured workshops and technical presentations.
